Sugar Cookie Recipe

And I think I might have to try it. I could be missing something?

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

What you need:

1/2 cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
2 2/3 Cup Flour

What you do:

Heat oven to 375 degrees

Cream together all of the ingredients except the flour.

(this is what her recipe says to do...but I am going to cream together the butter and sugar, then add the egg, vanilla and sour cream. Them mix the baking soda and salt to the flour and add it that way. And not just because that is the way I was taught. There are benefits to the whole creaming butter thing. I will have to post about it sometime.) Now back to her recipe.

Add:
2 2/3 Cup Flour

(The dough will be sticky) Divide dough in half and roll it out to 1/4" thickness on a well floured surface and cut out your cookies.

Bake 8-10 minutes until LIGHTLY browned on bottom

Let cookies cool, frost and store in airtight container
